I learn from new ideas, new stimuli and finding the links between them. I believe in growth and innovation rather than control and supervision.

I’m married and have three sons; a real male environment. We have a lot of fun, laugh a lot and are a pretty creative bunch. There’s never a dull moment! I like photography and movies, and when I find the time, I play the piano or work on an oil painting.

I like change, so I travel a lot. Through the years, I’ve been able to create a balance with my family that enables me to do that. I’m very interested in other cultures. For me, they’re a mirror that enables us to learn more about ourselves.

I love Italy, Italian art and design, Italian literature, and the spontaneity and enthusiasm with which Italians approach life. But my Frisian roots also mean that I am a down-to-earth, process-oriented thinker.

My attitude to life is simple: carpe diem and be positive. Grow and develop, learn from others, help others advance and enjoy each other. Enjoy every moment to the fullest and don’t be afraid to live. Dream big, but break the dream down into achievable pieces.

And don’t take yourself too seriously; there’s more than enough time to do that later :)
